《中国地方志集成》是一套国内外选收方志最完整、覆盖面广、实用性强的大型方志丛书。80年代后期，全国新修方志全面展开，修志人员的读志用志也随之进入高潮。为了开发和利用好地方志书这一我国特有的历史文化载体，江苏古籍出版社（今凤凰出版社的前身）、上海书店和巴蜀书社三家出版单位在全国各大图书馆的协助和支持下，启动了影印出版1949年以前各类旧志的项目，做成了一部《中国地方志集成》书目。
